Webta finishes development and deployment of savefile.com Version 2.
Savefile.com is one of the leading one-click file hosting services, with alexa.com
page rank of 700.
Version 2 aimed to solve problems with service stability and acessibility, caused by increased traffic, make it expandable and easier to maintain.
Because previous version was not able to handle increasing number of visitors, we developed a load-balanced network with support for multiple plug'n'play file servers and MySQL database servers cluster.
Both hosting webfarm insfrastructure and application framework was developed by us from scratch.
The system is built on:
1. Customized and tuned FreeBSD 6 OS,
2. Patched PHP5 as an aplication server,
3. SNMP to poll nodes status in cluster,
4.
memcached to store upload status and cluster nodes status,

Our experience in high-performace web servers deployment helped us to develop a storage server configuration which handles 500Mb/s download/upload traffic with load average of less than 1.
Our active collaboration with an author of an excellent lightweight
nginx web server helped to improve it's code.
Custom PHP extension was developed for upload status bar interface component, which stores upload progress details in memcached.
A powerful backend was also developed, which allows web service staff to manage and monitor storage servers, files, projects, abuse reporting, collect system statistics.
